Dr. Martin Gerdes, Director at the Cardiovascular Research Center of the South Dakota Health Research Foundation and the University of South Dakota, has been named to the Editorial Board of American Journal of Physiology: Heart and Circulatory Section.

This prestigious physiology journal publishes the best and newest research in the broad area of cardiovascular physiology.  As a member of the editorial board, Dr. Gerdes will be asked to advise the Editor and Associate Editors on the scientific quality, presentation and ethical aspects of manuscripts submitted for publication to the journal.  Periodically Dr. Gerdes will be asked to review manuscripts in his area of expertise.  His appointment to the Board began January 1, 2006.
