Two USD Basic Biomedical students working at Sanford Research/USD have received grants funded by the USD Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the Graduate School.
Lindsey Rieck, a second year BBS Graduate Student was awarded a $500 grant for her proposal entitled, "Characterizing CAPC and HER-2 for Use as Breast Cancer Tumor Markers in American Indian Women". Lindsey is working in Dr. Kristi Egland's lab in pursuit of a Master's degree.
Yongxian "Cathy" Zhuang, a fourth year BBS Graduate Studnet was awarded a $500 grant for her proosal entitled, "
Metformin triggers autophagic death in MCF7 breast cancer cells”. Cathy is working in Dr. W. Keith Miskimins' lab in pursuit of her Ph.D.
