Dr. Meena Jaggi was asked to present her research at the American Association for Cancer Research in Washington, DC this week. Dr. Jaggi's study (conducted while she was at the University of Nebraska) has identified a novel and direct interaction between PKD1 and b-catenin resulting in membrane trafficking of b-catenin. This interaction may be functionally important in prostate cancer because PKD1 activation influences membrane trafficking and nuclear localization of b-catenin. Congratulations Dr. Jaggi!
