Through the generosity of T. Denny Sanford, USD School of Medicine was renamed Sanford School of Medicine, in December of 2005. In recognition of this change, the South Dakota Health Research Foundation has been renamed Sanford Research/USD.

This is an exciting time for Sanford Research/USD. Sioux Valley has increased its funding for Sanford Research/USD to $2 Million per year. This funding, coupled with our staffs' success in obtaining external research funds and USD's contributions, creates an organization that will lead to tremendous opportunites in the future. We are planning for significant growth in research programs, facilities and research success.
