The Flow Cytometry Core is located in the Cancer Biology Research Center at the Health Sciences Center in Sioux Falls and is equipped with a Becton Dickinson FACSVantage™ SE cell sorter.

The goal of the facility is to provide comprehensive data collection, data analysis, data interpretation, cell sorting and education in flow cytometry.

The main users of the facility are investigators of Sanford Research/USD but the services are available to researchers across the state system.

This Core is providing essential support in the following areas:

• Cell sorting

• DNA content and cell cycle analysis

• Specific S phase labeling

• Viability/cytotoxicity

• Analysis of apoptosis

• Fluorescence labeling of phosphorylated proteins
