Research Scientist (Epidemiologist)

The Health Disparities Institute of Sanford Research/USD is seeking an epidemiologist to provide epidemiological expertise to the faculty within the Health Disparities Institute and Sanford Research/USD.  Specific responsibilities include collaborating with research faculty and fellows and developing an externally funded line of research.  Sanford Research/USD is a partnership of Sioux Valley Hospitals and Health System and Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Doctorate degree in epidemiology, a closely-related field such as a doctorate in public health, or a professional health degree such as a doctorate of medicine or nursing with advanced training in epidemiology.  Area of specialization is open but preference is for interest in and experience with birth defects or disease-based registries.  The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, professional and research skills, and have experience working with Native American communities and state agencies.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.  Continuation of employment is dependent upon renewal of funding.
